Types

I love a bit of hand-drawn type, the possibilities are endless and I love seeing the cross over between illustration and graphic design.

Catch Up

The last couple of weeks have been hectic to say the least! After 'REVEALED' at Leeds College of Art, it was off to New Designers to exhibit for four days along with thousands of other design graduates. It was a lovely, enlightening and interesting week, especially after receiving the Tigerprint Award. I spent the next few weeks emailing, planning and organising!

All in all, I am now working in London, and hoping to keep doing personal work in my spare time. I have been producing my own cards and prints, so I'll keep this blog updated with little nuggets of what I've been making and doing. Three years ago pretty much to the day me and the wonderful girls of LCA were just beginning and it feels so strange to not be going back to uni for a new year of school!

Prints Galore

I am now selling prints. I have a limited edition of 5 'Dianthus Dissection' hand-prints, produced through copper-plate etching. The delicate illustration is of a dissected floral stem, and each of the prints are full of unique and beautiful texture. Each of the limited editions have been hand-printed by myself, on 300gsm white Somerset printmaking paper, which is heavy-weight, acid free, and matt textured.

This limited run is available framed, or cello-wrapped for you to frame yourself. Please contact me for prices and delivery options via contact@kathrynfowler.co.uk or through my Facebook page or on 07970006947

Features

I just found a lovely little blog post about me and my work here.....

Vicky wrote 'I visited The New Designers exhibition last Friday and was delighted to find it brimming with creative energy!  The graduates from Birmingham, Swansea and Glasgow School of Art particularly stood out for their individual and unique creations.
A designer to watch in the future is Kathryn Fowler, graduate from Leeds College of Art, who was awarded the‘New Designers Tigerprint Award.’ Her detailed botanical illustrations are beautifully executed in a grey, green/ blue colour palette to produce stylish wallpaper designs.  View more images on her website.'

Degree Show

Here are a couple of photos of my collection up on display for my degree show. I was really happy with how it all came together, and it's been great seeing the designs printed to scale and in a exhibition environment.

Following the preview evening on Friday night, and today is the last day of my degree show at Leeds College of Art. It has been brilliant hearing feedback about my designs, and talking about future plans with interesting people. Tomorrow is results day, as well as taking down the show, and leaving Leeds to get ready for New Designers Part 1 next week. Madness.

A Break

Sorry for the lack of posts on the blog front, I've been struck down poorly sick with tonsillitus and some sort of fever bug this past week - BRILLIANT TIMING!

I got some lovely news last week, learning that I will be exhibiting my wallpapers at New Designers Part 1 in June. I am so thrilled to have this opportunity!

But for now I need to crack on printing and finalising designs, and I'll blog about it soon hopefully.
